Ottery Feoffee Charity

"There is a huge demand for safe, secure and affordable housing in the area and Ottery Feoffee Charity is delighted to provide this for our local community. We thank everyone involved for helping this dream become a reality."

Ottery Feoffee Charity work to reduce homelessness in the Ottery St Mary area.

The Ottery Feoffee Charity is managed by a board of volunteer trustees and traces its origins back to a 1440 property deed.

Today there are 22 flats, which provide accommodation for 26 elderly people.

Ottery Feoffee Charity applied for funding to support the development of four further 1-bedroom flats. Quaker Housing Trust awarded them an interest-free loan of £20,000.

The flats were completed in June 2026, and Ottery Feoffee Charity have been able to offer accommodation to four people in need of safe, secure and affordable homes.

The residents love their homes and have created a supportive mini-community for themselves within our larger Almshouse community.

The charity plans to explore further opportunities for Almshouse development in Ottery St Mary to support vulnerable and elderly parishioners well into the future.
