Since 1967 we have helped projects in England, Scotland and Wales with projects ranging from renovations and conversions to new build Passivhaus homes.

QHT was set up in 1967 to provide a practical response to Quakers’ concern about providing adequate and appropriate homes to those in need. Since then we have supported well over 200 partner organisations from Cornwall to the Scottish Isles in their projects, some of them several times.

These organisations range from community trusts and housing associations to YMCAs, a wide range of religious groups and many more. Our support has covered environmental assessment grants to enable housing providers to take cost-effective steps to reduce energy use, to refurbishment and upgrading existing properties and developing inspiring new ones. You can find some examples in our case studies. In almost every case we have provided only a modest proportion of the funding, but in many of them our support has been vital in either encouraging others to support or in making the project viable.

The real success though is in the lives of the people who live in the homes that we have helped create and we are honoured to have been able to help them on their journeys.
